The Transplant Links Community

Staff

We have three members of staff at Transplant Links Community - Aimee Jewitt-Harris (Chief Executive Officer), Dr Jennie Jewitt-Harris (Founder and Director of Medical Activities) and Oliver Jamieson (Project Manager). They run the charity with the vital help of the board of trustees and wonderful Medical Faculty, who volunteer their skills and time at no cost.

Medical Faculty

We are blessed to have a growing team of Nephrologists (Kidney Specialists), Surgeons, Nurses, Operating Theatre Technicians and Anaesthetists who give up their time to travel around the world to pass on their skills and knowledge to medical staff in developing countries. Because our management team is small and our medical team are volunteers, we can keep our overheads and costs as low as possible.

Scroll to the bottom of this page for a full list of our Medical Faculty and their roles.

Trustees and advisors

The charity is managed by Jennie and Aimee and a board of trustees: (left to right) Chair of Trustees / Medical Director / Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist Dr David Milford, TLC CEO/founder Dr Jennie Jewitt-Harris, Consultant Transplant Surgeon Mr Andrew Ready, Consultant Nephrologist Dr Dwomoa Adu, Beverley Evans, Jeanette Swan and Consultant Nephrologist Dr Shazia Shabir. We are also immensely grateful to have the support of ‘Computer Chris’.

The work of TLC is of great importance to me.

TLC is a small but mighty charity who take doctors and surgeons to developing countries to pass on their surgical and medical skills to local surgeons and doctors. They specifically train doctors and surgeons in kidney transplantation, where a healthy relative can save the life of a loved one who is suffering from kidney failure by donating a healthy kidney. This work saves and transforms the lives of children and adults, and ensures many more will benefit in the future. The generosity of the medical volunteers, the support of sponsors and the hard work of the TLC staff gives children and adults who previously had no hope the chance of a near normal life. I am honoured and privileged to be a patron of Transplant Links Community.
